Summary

 

Support the Local Human Resources department in carrying out the day-to-day operations and various human resources programs and procedures for the Chicago office.  

 


Duties and Responsibilities

 

Prepares and processes data on new hires, terminations, salary, position and status changes, etc.
Oversees data entry processes and runs audits as necessary.
Monitors and reconciles Time & Attendance data entry by staff.
Assists in the administration of leaves of absence (i.e., Disability, FMLA, Workers' Compensation).
Assists with firmwide HR initiatives for lawyers and staff, including the performance management process.
Creates and runs queries and reports from HRIS.
Assists in processing unemployment claims.
Maintains personnel files and various other departmental files.
Responds to employee inquiries regarding firm policies and procedures as well as responding to specific employment verifications.
Assists in maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state and local employment regulations.
Assists in the supervision of projects assigned to HR interns.
Initiate onboarding for staff and lawyers, prep for and conduct New Hire Orientation as needed.
Monitor requisitions, new hire paperwork and onboarding via iCIMS applicant management system.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
Minimum of 2-4 years of Human Resources experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
Experience and comfort with public speaking
PHR, SPHR or SHRM certification
