Position Details:
The Manager, Administrative Services (MAS) role will build, lead, coach and develop a team of administrative professionals within the Grainger Organization. The administrative professional team supports leaders within the organization. As an MAS, you will implement and drive an overall strategic plan aligned to function and enterprise goals, and oversee service quality and performance management of the administrative professional team. The role requires leadership experience, performance and project management skills, and partnership with stakeholders across Grainger. You will report to VP, Human Resources and your location will be based on the location best aligned with your leader(s) presence.

You Will:
Manage the administrative professional talent; partnering closely with teams across the organization
Build, implement and consistently update a hiring, onboarding, and training plan
Create and monitor service quality metrics for the team, and remedy issues as they arise
Oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of the team
Work closely with leaders and other stakeholders to ensure maximum mutual satisfaction and constant performance feedback
Work closely with leaders, and other stakeholders, of the aligned business areas to understand key business activities/needs
Execute all performance management processes by liaising with the leaders who are supported by an administrative team member
Be 'the face' of the administrative team to the broader leadership community

You Have:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience in a supervisory role
Direct people leadership experience at Grainger is required
A deep understanding of administrative assistant roles and responsibilities
Infrequent travel may be required
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
Experience developing and leading compelling presentations for a variety of audiences
Strong ability to identify, analyze, and settle issues as they arise
Experience implementing and supporting change management processes
Strong service orientation and sensitivity in responding to customer needs
Experience with difficult and confidential situations
Project management skills
