The Plate Maker produces flexo plates for production based on the files received from PrePress and the production schedule and is accountable for all tasks/duties described in this job description as well as other assignments as directed by the Department Manager and/or Plant Manager. The Plate Maker helps set the foundation for successful printing production. They ensure that the proper plates are available for each job prior to the press run. The Plate Maker supports the press room at all times during their shift and makes any new plates as needed.

Responsibilities:
Image and process plates.
Maintain all equipment, as required.
Evaluate quality of image on the plate.
Record Plate/Job information on Packaged Plates for Job
Keep accurate records in WebCenter of time and materials used for each job.
Make replacement plates for damaged or worn plates.
Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations.
Interacts and behaves professionally. Treats all associates respectfully and professionally while maintaining company code of ethics.
Responsible for maintaining daily housekeeping efforts.
Other duties as assigned by Prepress Manager and/or Plant Manager
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED is required; College degree strongly preferred, ideally related to the printing industry
Minimum 3 year experience print manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into actionable tasks
Intimate knowledge of production environment withinhigh-volume printing
Knowledge of color separations, press layouts, print specifications
Proficiency in MS Office applications
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills
