The Oracle SaaS-at-Customer and OCI DRCC (Dedicated Region Cloud-at-Customer) service is an offering that gives Oracle customers the software and services provided by the Oracle Cloud on hardware installed in the customer’s own data center and/or in Oracle dedicated regions. Members of the SRE team are responsible for delivering strategic technical support and solutions to Oracle cloud customers while serving as an advocate for customer needs. Team members will engage in OCI DRCC Region Builds and Operations Engineering, Cloud infrastructure design, develop, build, release, and support of SaaS at Customer CIS (Control Plane) and the microservices but not limited to. They are also expected to collaborate with the core product development, OCI DevSecOps teams, customer operations teams to address extremely complex, critical customer system issues on a routine basis and document technical solutions.

This position is for FULL TIME work primarily day shift during weekdays and will require some weekend day/evening shifts for maintenance and support activities. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Provide direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional areas with 7+ years of software engineering and atleast 5 plus years of DevSecOps culture.

As a principal Site Reliability Engineer/Developer, you will be part of the DevSecOps culture who will combine software and systems engineering to build, package, release and integrate tools and applications that will strengthen and innovate in the Cloud space within the Oracle SaaS-at-Customer and OCI DRCC infrastructure. Play a key role in the SRE team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Responsibilities

+ Lead implementation of tools and processes using DevSecOps methodologies to innovate, design, develop, secure, build, release and support fully automated CI/CD pipelines for the development and maintenance of Cloud Infrastructure Services and relevant applications.

+ Manage and operate the infrastructure and configuration of microservices with a focus on end-to-end automation and infrastructure as code.

+ Perform code development, OCI DRCC region builds, monthly release deployments, operations engineering, and promotion to testing and production environments to support Sprint activities.

+ Participate in developing, implementing, and enforcing policies to enhance cloud system security.

+ Recommend technical policies and consult with development teams on remediation.

+ Collaborate with team members to improve the team’s engineering tools, systems, procedures, and security.

+ Apply DevSecOps methodologies in assisting to determine the direction of current and future development projects.

+ Evangelize security and application solutions and controls by creating and communicating presentations both internally and externally.

+ Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous situations.

+ Work across development and operational environments.

+ Stay abreast of software testing technologies and best practices.

Minimum Required Experience

+ BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience relevant to functional area with around 10 years of experience (7+ years of software engineering and atleast 3 years of DevSecOps culture)

+ Experience with cloud solutions and security engineering/design experience on one of the major cloud platforms AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI (preferred).

+ Extensive experience in using Terraform for orchestrating application resources and infrastructure in CI/CD platform.

+ Extensive experience in DevSecOps culture.

+ Extensive experience with Oracle RDBMS, Real Application Cluster (RAC), Disaster recovery, WebLogic, Identity Management, Apache/HTTP, Apex and Fusion Middleware and/or other Oracle technologies.

+ Extensive experience with scripting and coding languages like shell scripting (must), Python (must), Ruby (plus), Go (plus) but not limited to.

+ Experience developing cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools such as Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, Rundeck and Git.

+ Experience with Release Management cycles and Git.

+ Knowledge of storage (ZFS preferred), IP networking, VPN’s, DNS, load balancing and firewall (F5).

+ Experience with one or more of the following required (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Microservices, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence)

+ Experience with full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.

+ Extensive background in cloud applications, cloud platforms and/or experience providing cloud infrastructure platforms in complex environments.

+ Use Everything-As-Code methodologies to ensure traceability, configurability, immutability, repeatability, and governability.

+ Highly self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and with members of a global team without close supervision.

Preferred Experience

+ SOA Suite administration (BPEL & WSM)

+ Knowledge on Fusion Applications is a big plus.

+ Experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.

+ Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (EMCC).

US: Hiring Range: from $97,400 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
