Come join our team to help support our mission by Doing the Most Good! The Salvation Army is looking for a seasonal Custodian at our College for Officer Training in Chicago.

Job Objective:
Maintain assigned buildings associated with the College for Officers Training (CFOT) through general cleaning and upkeep.
Essential Functions:
General cleaning throughout the CFOT campus, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying of trash, washing windows and cleaning bathrooms
Maintain and clean janitor closets
Maintain and clean visitor rooms for Brengle and other events
Detail cleaning of brass throughout the campus
Clean and polish the elevator threshold and cab
Report all maintenance related issues to the Property Director
Clean carpets throughout campus in the summer and as requested by supervisor
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma / GED (preferred)
A minimum of 3 months experience in facility janitorial maintenance
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel
Basic computer knowledge
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds occasionally
Must be able stand and walk for extended periods of time
Able to bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders, reach above shoulder level, crouch, push and pull
Have vision acuity
Working Conditions:
Exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals and solvents.
