Job Description

Medline Industries, LP is seeking Server Engineering System Administrator(s) II to be responsible for configuring, building, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading all server and virtualization-based systems at Medline. This position will report to the Libertyville, IL office. 
 
Job responsibilities and duties include: 
 
Build, configure advanced properties of, document, and administer server-based operating systems on physical and virtual hardware. 
 
Perform advanced monitoring and troubleshooting of system related issues including performance tuning and root cause analysis. 
 
Participate in the management and maintenance of one or more Microsoft Azure tenants. 
 
Participate in Disaster Recovery deployment, administration, and testing activities. 
 
Configure and administer VMware virtualized environments including virtual machine management, troubleshooting, and virtual networking. 
 
Participate in a production on-call rotation. 
 
This position has no direct reports and does not supervise the work of any other employees.

Minimum Requirements:  
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Management, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or any related IT field of study, plus at least three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) in which the required experience was gained. Employer will accept a foreign degree equivalent. 
 
Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, and knowledge with the following: 
 
1. Demonstrated experience in system administration. 
2. Demonstrated experience with ticket-based tracking systems and on-call rotations and duties. 
3. Demonstrated experience installing, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Server and Linux operating system products in an enterprise environment. 
4. Demonstrated experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory and related services. 
5. Demonstrated experience with administering VMware vSphere environments up to and including vCenter environments and management, ESXi, and vRealize Operations. 
6. Demonstrated operational knowledge of shared storage systems that support virtualization deployments such as VMware vSphere. 
7. Demonstrated operational knowledge of virtual networking concepts and configurations such as port groups, VLAN tagging, and channel bonding. 
8. Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of hardware configuration and troubleshooting including problems such as CPU, RAM, and disk failures. 
9. Demonstrated experience resolving problems such as file system capacity and consistency and integrity of file systems. 
10. Demonstrated experience resolving issues with Active Directory functionality such as group policy issues, sites, and services configurations, and FSMO role transfer. 
 
No travel required. Work from home (WFH) benefit available.
