Job Overview

Responsible for consolidating the financial planning and forecasting functions for the Construction Aftermarket Business Segment. This includes the monthly report out process, annual business plan (including Headcount budgeting), 3x annual outlooks, routine month end close responsibilities and providing monthly commentary regarding results.
Develop and improve reporting insights to drive the strategy, goals, and objectives of the Aftermarket Business. Support the leadership team that consists of VP of Products, Service & Solutions (Smart Construction/Quarry, Digital Support/Solutions, Product Marketing, Advantage Extended Warranty, and Genuine Care - Maintenance contracts) Senior Director, Dealer Engagements (Dealer Development, Publications, Cartersville training center, Komatsu Academy - digital training) VP Finance (North America Finance C.E. Parts, and SE/MDT), and Senior Accounting Manager. This includes initiating and driving process improvements, leading projects, and proactively communicating to ensure we deliver on our financial commitments.
Drive continuous improvements both to the planning process and systems utilization to allow our process to continually improve and become more efficient.

Key Job Responsibilities

Business Partnership: Support the Construction Aftermarket Segment leadership team(s) to provide insightful findings and recommendations and help to drive the strategy, goals and objectives.
Prepare monthly financial reporting package for North America Regional management. This includes timely and accurate reporting against budget and forecast in addition to driving efforts to understand root causes of variances and establish recovery actions when necessary. Report on capacity cost variances to BP, OL, etc. Will assist Construction Aftermarket Segment management with the development and analysis of strategic business plans

Monthly Close and Reporting: Manage the monthly close process.
This includes compiling the monthly transaction from the Smart Construction/Quarry data base and working with the operation team on recording in SAP revenue recognition, c.o.g.s., deferred revenue, warranty accrual, account receivable, cash account, inventory balance and misc. accounts.
Provide monthly F.S. to the segment owners, which is compared against the most recent outlook (Smart Construction/Quarry, Advantage Extended Warranty, Genuine Care, and Komatsu Academy)
Review and give assistance with cost center budgeting to explain the differences
Validate that the headcount, and CAP EXP reports agree with the outlooks
Prepare Journal entries for approval, posting, and SAP archiving
