Position Summary
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to
serve as Child and Family Policy Writer. Subject to management approval, this position will develop, conceptualize, and
draft new or revised Departmental rules, procedures, policy guides, policy interpretations, information transmittals, and
other policy directives primarily (but not exclusively) related to the delivery of Department child and family welfare services.
The position will utilize Spanish speaking skills in the performance of duties. This position provides a great opportunity for
someone who is detail oriented and focused on ensuring the implementation of effective, appropriate policies for the

- Analyzes internal and external comments received on Department rules and procedures
- Drafts responses or analyses, as well as clarifications and/or interpretations regarding
DCFS policies and procedures, programs, and services - Monitors to ensure that correct materials are prepared for publication in The Illinois
Register for codification in the Illinois Administrative Code - Translates and interprets, both orally and in writing, for Spanish speaking clients
regarding services available and the proper completion of forms - Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of
the duties enumerated above
