Job Description

The Application Administrator works within a team environment to maintain, optimize, and provide technical expertise for enterprise and business level information systems (Software Applications and Hardware Components). The incumbent oversees Enterprise and/or Business Applications acting as a Primary or Backup Administrator for off the shelf or open-source business processing software tools for ITSM (Cherwell, ServiceNow), Finance/Accounting Packages (Ellucian Colleague, TouchNet), Learning Management (Canvas), Facilities, Scheduling, Planning, etc. Some of the larger software tools this team is responsible for include Cognos, SolarWinds, Orion, WebTMA, Confluence, GitLab, etc.

Primary responsibilities for this position include software installation, patching, performance tuning, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting and/or coordinating those with a managed services provided. In addition, the Application Administrator will assist in continuous improvement and innovation to enhance customer experience and the ROI with each application they support.

The Application Services (APPS) team develops, administers, and delivers quality application services to the University. They work on enterprise and business applications, such as PeopleSoft, Canvas, and others. https://techsolutions.illinoisstate.edu/
