Job Summary:
The Program Assistant position supports alumni relations and development efforts at Northwestern University’s School of Communication.
This position supports the major gift officers assigned to the School of Communication by providing a variety of programmatic and administrative support. This support includes, but is not limited to:
- Utilizing database software
- Coordinating the weekly gift acknowledgements process
- Creating briefings, reports, and fundraising proposals
- Drafting correspondence
- Preparing agendas and materials for fundraiser visits, including travel arrangements
- Assisting with events
- This professional must work collaboratively with other Program Assistants, chief development officers, fundraisers, and other colleagues across the Alumni Relations and Development organization.
Specific Responsibilities:
Documents & Databases
- Prepares materials (reports, briefings, proposals, agendas) for external and internal audiences, including donor briefings, dean briefings, pipeline reports, goal projections, and more
- Creates and maintains standard spreadsheets and/or databases, primarily the CATracks datase. Within CATracks, maintains confidential record files, enters proposal information, pulls reports, tracks gifts, etc. to support the fundraising work of the managers, relevant university leaders, and the school and unit teams as needed
- Independently responds to and composes correspondence.
