Job Description
Job Duties: Perform lead role in planning, development, testing and documentation of computer programs. Supervise trial runs of programs and testing of software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct. Review the evaluation of user requests for new or modified programs, and compatibility with current systems and computer capabilities. Manage consolidation of class and sequence diagrams and preparation of high- and low-level design documents. Use structured analysis and design techniques to perform lead role in formulating plans that outline the steps required to develop programs. Oversee and perform lead role in writing, analysis, review, and rewriting of programs, using
workflow charts and diagrams, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic. Oversee the entry of program codes into computer systems and testing programs. Perform lead role in revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Supervise recreation of steps taken by users to locate the source of and correct problems. Manage compilation and writing of documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, reviewing the inserted comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program. Perform lead role in correcting errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced. Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.
Requirements: Master's or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or as a/an software designer, developer, analyst, tester, or related. In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's or equivalent in the above-stated fields plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the above-stated occupations. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience not less than the primary requirements. Position is based out of 55 W. Monroe St., Ste. 1200, Chicago, IL 60603, and may require relocation to various unanticipated locations throughout the United States.
