Your new team
This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

This position sits within our Malt Distillation Team who are responsible for all production operations at our malt distilleries across Speyside and Orkney. The key pillars to the success of the team are Safety, Environment, Compliance, Efficiency and Production.

Your unique contribution
The Distillery Operations Manager will effectively manage distillery operations across a group of sites in line with customer requirements and overall business objectives.

You will have four main areas of responsibility:

Operational Leadership - to maximise the effective use of resources to carry out all operations in line with departmental goals and objectives and to deliver the groups key KPI performance objectives. You will support the wider malt distilling strategic vision by implementing and leading on plans.
People Leadership - to develop and coach people in your teams across multiple sites and to support and invest in development of talent within the operations population.
Business Improvements - to deliver and implement key CAPEX investments to support production improvements and sustainability strategy, along with supporting future CAPEX plans and the implementation of continuous improvement tools and identify opportunities within responsible area.
Compliance - to be responsible for ensuring new make spirit meets expected quality standards and to drive and implement high standards of Health & Safety in line with regulatory requirements. You will ensure groups operations comply with all legal and regulatory standards to meet expectations for health & safety, environment and HMRC.

Who you'll be working with

Internally, you will collaborate with the wider Production team as well as other teams across the organisation, including Engineering, Health & Safety, Quality, Finance and HR.

Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure delivery of services to the highest quality.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:
Have previous experience as an Operational Leader in a distillation environment, with experience of managing a variety of teams and resource management to deliver objectives.
Have a strong understanding and experience of managing health & safety across operational environments in line with regulatory standards.
Are a strong communicator with experience of managing & communicating with various stakeholders to support objectives and key decision making.
