Full-time Faculty Positions

Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Applicants will be evaluated at the college/school level for the position which they are submitting an application. Unless noted by a close date, positions will remain open until they are filled. Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

College/School: Chicago, IL - School of Liberal Arts & Sciences Responsibilities:

The Department of Modern Languages at DePaul University in Chicago is accepting applications for a full-time non-tenure track Professor of Instruction in American Sign Language beginning in Fall 2024. Responsibilities will include teaching 8 in-person ASL courses (2-3-3 for 2024-25) at various levels, with the possibility of advanced topics courses such as Deaf Culture and ASL Literature. This position also offers opportunities to teach courses in English for DePaul's Liberal Studies Program (with interpreter support as needed). Additional duties include directing the ASL Program, which entails course scheduling, oversight of ASL part-time faculty, course and curriculum development, student advising, organizing cultural events and activities, and working with student organizations to promote the study of ASL and encourage connections with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
Native or near-native proficiency in ASL (ASLPI proficiency level of 4 or better is preferred);
A minimum of a Master's degree in Sign Language Teaching, Deaf Studies, or a closely related field;
A minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college or post-secondary level;
Demonstrated experience in course and curriculum development.
