The Payment Operations Manager 's focus is on managing and providing expertise for a Payments group within the larger Cash Management Practice. Responsible for managing others and applying operational and strategic management skills. Responsible for collaborating with senior leaders and other business leaders to develop strategic and financial objectives and for leading the execution of those objectives .

Team and Operational Management Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the performance and results of the Payments division.



  • Conduct the performance management process, ide ntify tr aining and development needs, and est ablish pe rformance standards for the Practice.



  • Hiring, performance reviews, pay decisions and development.



  • Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy.



  • Responsible for assessing opportunities to streamline processes and implement changes via system enhancements and/or automation, as appropriate .



  • Proactively build relationships and partner with capability teams to uncover opportunities and develop strategies to improve service.



Major Duties :

Guided by the larger Cash Management organization functional strategy, has broad impact on the Payments functional, divisional and regional results

Define the function and necessary production organization to carry out business objectives

Proactively research and coordinate enhancements and transformation

Support Cash Management Business in providing new ideas and thought leadership to benefit N orthern T rust

Responsible for maintaining quality service with future considerations

Ensure changes match industry trends and client expectations in terms of partnering with technology and service delivery

Effectively manage financial health of the practice and remain in budget

Advocate for cost-effective strategies that meet client needs

Identify opportunities for continuous efficiencies, scale, and value

Organize the functional Payments work from a process and locational regulatory standpoint

Responsible for control and risk management ; Provide overall risk, control and operational resiliency

Provide input to Talent Decisions as related to upskilling the function from a service perspective

Effectively manage change and transformation objectives

Point of contact for issues specific to functions under management

Coordinate operational response to complex issues

Accountable for delivering quality solutions with an eye to the future of expense management and client service delivery

Collaborate with other Practice Execs and capabilities to deliver and overall seamless operational offering
