About This Role
The Accounting Transformation Manager role will lead and/or be a key stakeholder in various finance and accounting initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities. This role will also serve as a technical accounting liaison for various business projects and research and conclude on the accounting treatment for significant transactions, ensuring adequate internal controls are established and that the accounting processes are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role provides support to manage the activities of general accounting functions, including developing, implementing and maintaining systems, procedures, and policies to ensure the maintenance of the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the production of various financial statements, analyses, reports, and monthly close responsibilities.
Participate and/or lead accounting and finance-related projects and improvement opportunities to ensure appropriate requirements are developed and implemented.
Act as a liaison between accounting teams and the broader enterprise to support key projects, initiatives, transactions, and planning decisions.
Review, operationalize and implement accounting enhancements to support the business.
Ensure understanding of transactional flow through various systems to monitor and ensure accurate accounting.
Serves as a technical accounting expert to senior leadership and accounting policy consultant to business stakeholders by providing recommendations on various transactions, contractual arrangements, and projects.
Researches and concludes on the accounting treatment for material contracts entered into on behalf of the company.
Plays central role in "operationalizing" executed contracts to ensure the company is meeting contractual obligations as well as monitoring contract benefits.
Prepares technical accounting documentation based on significant contracts and coordinates with various accounting groups to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
Ensures accounting practices, journal entries, and resulting financial statement accounts throughout the organization are adhered to in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure accounting records, monthly accounting close activities (including journal entries and account reconciliations) and variance analysis are properly prepared, maintained and completed in a timely manner.
Support requests for financial information from executive leadership, internal and external auditors, or others in the organization, as needed.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA
5 plus years of combined accounting and relevant experience
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong complex problem solving and analytical abilities
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with all levels of management and associates
Advanced computer competency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Advanced understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
Experience performing technical accounting research and applying GAAP to specific facts and circumstances
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA
Public accounting experience preferred
Experience with financial system implementations or upgrades
Managing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment where prioritization changes rapidly
