Position Overview:
Automation Specialist for robotic fabrication and assembly. Position requires the individual to support automated operations by performing basic electrical & mechanical troubleshooting, coordinating with maintenance to reduce downtime, and training & support of the production team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists in the maintaining of automated systems, robotics, conveyors, servos, etc.
Maintains communications with the team for issues/corrections.
Assist with maintaining process documentation.
Receives direction from Controls Specialist or Sr. Controls Specialist
Weld fixture, Robot tooling, & automated assembly equipment repair and adjustment
Understands & complies with all OSHA & Plant safety requirements.
Provides operator training & coaching on automation system operation & fault recovery.
Escalates system errors & failure modes to Automation Specialist & above as needed.
Aid the verification of inventory on robotic consumables.
Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and required activities.
Accurately communicates modes of failure & determines possible solutions.
Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Associates Degree or Experience in technical field(s) preferred.
Basic Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude
Familiarity with industrial components (Valve, Cylinders, Motors, Etc)
Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods with an emphasis on welding, finishing, and assembly.
Basic understanding of networking.
Basic Robotics, PLC or HMI knowledge.
Basic knowledge of Solidworks or comparable solid modeling program, and MS Office.
Ability to learn new processes and apply concepts rapidly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate progress to management.
Willingness to complete training.
Ability to travel for classes or vendor support (5-10%).
Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:
Normal standing, bending, walking or lifting ability associated with a manufacturing environment. Capable of working in an industrial manufacturing environment in proximity to sources of noise, weld flash, and metal dust. Must be capable of communicating verbally with individuals at all levels of the organization and have good critical reasoning, organization, and mechanical skills.
