Job Description
This is a remote role, preference will be given to candidates within Chicago, IL and surrounding areas.
The Payroll Processing Manager will be responsible for managing the payroll preparation/processing for a large US multi-company centralized payroll department. This position will have the primary responsibility of managing multi-frequency payrolls for approximately 18,000 employees. This person will critically review and analyze current payroll procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements. This person will work closely with Human Resources, Benefits, IT, and Compensation teams.
Responsibilities
Ensure payroll is paid accurately, and timely and that all required reporting is delivered.
Ensure that daily quality and control measures are followed and end-to-end processes are met according to policy and regulatory requirements.
Manage the payroll processing team and their duties and responsibilities.
Coach team members and provide feedback to strengthen and/or improve performance dimensions.
Ensure payroll processing and related payroll activities comply with internal and external audit requirements.
Provide customer support to HR, managers, and employees to resolve payroll-related issues.
Be proactive in identifying process improvements, and system enhancements and effectively managing the change.
Work directly with IT leaders for system enhancements and testing.
Lead administrator for payroll processing.
Qualifications
High School or GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of payroll experience in a multi-company payroll department, with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Previous experience managing a team of about 5-7 individuals preferred.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS and Payroll for North America 9.2 preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain highly confidential information required.
Additional Information
The national pay range for this role is $74600 - $132500annually. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location.
In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
