Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will lead the MSL team and will work with the MSL team to ensure that the respective territory engagement plans are effectively executed per defined targets, following Fresenius Kabi compliance rules and code of conduct, and that relevant medical and scientific insight is routinely shared to optimize the medical affairs strategy for the specified portfolio. The Senior Manager, MSL and the MSL team will also support execution of medical affairs strategy and tactics where and as appropriate.
*This position may be worked remotely in the U.S., with frequent travel.
Responsibilities
Lead the MSL team under direction of Medical Affairs Leadership ensuring achievement of compliant and effective healthcare professional interaction for scientific exchange related to Company products per predefined engagement plans and targets.
Collaborate with team to help support the execution of the Medical Affairs strategy.
Strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliant In-field team excellence.
Hire and train MSLs and assess performance against goals of the MSL team.
Establish and maintain relationships with HCPs and HCDMs to provide scientific exchange related to disease states and associated Company products.
Oversee and participate in the development of educational materials and presentations to support internal and external medical and scientific exchange related to Company products.
Ensure adherence to compliant and timely reporting of adverse events and product complaints.
Manage costs across the team effectively to achieve objectives.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree is preferred (PhD, MD, PharmD) or Clinical Degree (RN, PA, NP) with a minimum 7+ years of related experience.
Minimum of 3+ years MSL/Senior MSL experience with demonstrated leadership and impact.
Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry required.
Management experience preferred.
Demonstrated skill in writing scientific documents.
Knowledge of key therapeutic area(s) preferred.
Knowledge of clinical trial design and process.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory, legal and compliance standards.
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Position will require 40-50% travel, including overnight stays. A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record are required.
