Develop and manage commercial banking business relationships including attracting new business; structuring, underwriting and closing of commercial real estate loans; monitoring, maintaining and servicing an existing loan portfolio. Provide high quality service to customers, while producing above average levels of profit to our shareholders, without compromising the safety and soundness of Marquette Bank.Specific Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain an initial commercial/real estate loan portfolio in the range of $55MM-$95MM
Meet or exceed the prescribed individual loan officer goals that are established annually for loans, deposits, services, portfolio maintenance, and non-interest income.
Heavy emphasis on developing new relationships through either existing referrals and/or effective manner of prospecting.
Work along with other departments, particularly the retail branches, providing awareness to the suite of Commercial Loan products. In some instances, this individual may be assigned a Sales Region with whom they will work directly with.
Assess the needs and opportunities related to specific customers, and the role our products and services can play in providing business solutions.
Collect and analyze financial and related data to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect/customer, the merits of the specific loan and product request, and make appropriate recommendations to the Senior Officer or designated Vice President.
Establish and negotiate terms under which credit will be extended; including rates, fees, repayment schedule, and collateral requirements.
Daily review and disposition of commercial overdrafts in relation to assigned account portfolio.
Monitor the current creditworthiness of existing credits. This is to be accomplished through the review of current financial information and collateral reports, as well as personal site visits and discussions with loan clients.
Approve or recommend loan applications within prescribed lending authority.
Prepare and present authorizations to the Executive Loan Committee on those loan requests that either exceed personal or departmental lending authorities.
Perform initial site inspections on real estate related loans as well as request follow-up/progress inspections in relation to construction loans.
Coordinate and work directly with bank approved environment firms, title companies and legal counsel concerning the services that are in relation to specific credit requests.
Undertake or partake in projects/assignments/committees within the department or Bank as assigned by either the Senior Vice President/Director or Executive Vice President of the department.
Contribute actively to the Bank's CRA initiatives and programs. Participate in community activities to increase the Bank's visibility and generate new business opportunities.
Actively comply with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations; adhering to the Bank's internal policies, procedures, and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies.
This position is responsible for actively complying with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending or non-deposit service regulations; adhering to the Bank's internal policies, procedures and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies.
Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent- Required.
Bachelor's Degree in either Business, Finance, or Economics- Desired.
Formal Credit Training or minimum of three years of commercial lending experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of real estate related financing, banking regulations, and commercial loan documentation.
Formal credit training or a minimum of three years' experience in a commercial real estate lending environment.
Ability to travel and transport customers within the Chicago metropolitan area as needed.
Basic computer literacy; able to become proficient in efficiently using the Banks's computer systems.
