Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program Support Specialist
Hourly Rate: $16.03

The CTE Program Support Specialist is responsible for supporting faculty program directors of employer-based/cohort programs. This position is an on-campus, part-time, 19 hours-or-less appointment on a schedule established by the CTE Associate Dean. The CTE Program Support Specialist must be able to communicate clearly, acquire and develop software skills, stay current in student enrollment steps, follow established procedure, and maintain accurate records. Internal and external events occasionally necessitate an altered work schedule including evenings or weekends.

Essential Job Functions:
Track applicants to assigned employer-based/cohort programs, including screening weekly applicant report for new applications; checking each applicant for their status and next step; texting students to follow-up; requesting transcript evaluations from Admissions; and assisting faculty with paperwork for course substitutions as needed.

Collaborate with other departments to facilitate program orientations for assigned cohort programs.

Support faculty program directors by communicating information and reminders about college enrollment and financial aid deadlines, new advising/enrollment procedures, and contacting students dropped for non-payment.

Collaborate with Student Services staff and advising teams to track student academic progress.

Explain Parkland enrollment processes and policies to new students.

Assist with planning for program events for assigned cohort programs (such as the Ford Asset graduation luncheon).

Assist faculty program directors with updating program cost sheets annually.

Support faculty program directors' employer visits with logistics, planning, and follow-up as needed.

Attend advisory board meetings for assigned cohort programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree with two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience using MS Office

Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service

In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment. This applies to all SURS annuitants except those receiving their annuity under either the Self-Managed Plan (SMP) or by lump sum payment.
