Through a holistic approach, the Knapp School & Yeshiva creates an inclusive therapeutic learning community centered around empowering student to reach their full potential.
Position Description:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the establishment and maintenance of a safe and effective educational environment for all students and staff through close collaboration with School Teachers, Clinical Staff, and School Administration. This person will:
Maintain calm, helpful, and appropriate demeanor during crisis and post crisis debrief.
Have familiarity and assist in implementing students' crisis support plans.
Utilize interventions prescribed by TCI, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Ukeru to provide emotional and environmental support for students, with the goal of reducing the likelihood of a crisis situation.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
ISBE Certified Paraprofessional
Must be able to successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Ukeru training and maintain the required credentials.
