JOB SUMMARY
As a Silk Screen Maker at G+D you will play a crucial role in our printing operations, ensuring the production of exceptional silk screen prints. Your attention to detail and expertise in offset silk screen printing techniques will contribute to the delivery of top-notch products to our clients. This position is working on the 2nd shift 2:30pm - 10:30pm Monday - Friday. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Follow the production workflow to assist in the production of high volumes of work on the silk screen press, contributing to the timely completion of orders.
Receive production orders and job assignments from the supervisor, demonstrating clear communication and attention to detail.
Perform cleaning, replenishment of consumables, and replacement of filters, bottles, and waste containers to uphold equipment performance and cleanliness standards.
Conduct repairs, adjustments, and general maintenance procedures on screen making equipment as needed to ensure optimal functionality.
Verify substrate size, color, and type, as well as ink color, according to job orders, confirming mesh specification for accurate printing.
Prepare stencils for screen printing of textile materials by assembling silk screen frames, stretching screen material, and coating screens with photosensitive emulsion.
Secure screens to frames, trim excess material, and position negatives for exposure to high-intensity light using a photoprint machine.
Wash unexposed emulsion from screens using water and pressure washer, maintaining cleanliness and print quality.
Adhere to all safety and operational procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Complete production records accurately to track job progress and maintain records of materials used.
Ensure proper cleanliness of the work station and immediate area, performing minor repairs as necessary to uphold workplace standards.
Demonstrate flexibility with work hours to accommodate the needs of multi-shift operations.
Perform any other job duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the team.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in silk screen printing or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with screen making equipment and processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs and adjustments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
