Position Overview

 

The Network Engineer is responsible for managing and troubleshooting Wintrusts network, running reports on network health and usage, providing input and completing tasks on major technology projects and providing technical support to internal staff and teams. The Engineer will assist network architects and senior engineers with implementation of network technologies. The role requires strict adherence to Wintrusts Network standards, policies, processes and procedures and may require some travel to remote locations in the Chicago and outlying area footprint of operations.

 

What Youll Do

  • Develop and maintain network documentation

  • Racking and stacking of data center/IDF/MDF equipment

  • Network cabling/patching

  • Cisco device configuration

  • Provide troubleshooting and end user support both in person and over the phone and up to 50% travel locally

  • Monitor network system health

  • Execute planned upgrades/patching per defined Wintrust Technology Network policies/standards

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

  • CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+ or CCNA a plus

  • Understanding of DNS, DHCP, IP management (DDI)

  • Understanding of routing and switching technology

  • Exposure to Cisco ISE/NAC and SD-WAN
