Location: Elk Grove, IL
Position: Team Leader - Blown Film
Pay: $28.39 - $39.75/hr; based on experience
Shift: Day shift, 5:45am - 6:15pm - continental schedule - 2-2-3, off every other weekend

This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

What you will be doing:
Set up and operate blown film extrusion line, using materials in pellets to produce plastic film meeting specs.
Install or change screens, set up trim scrap, film winderand adjust dies, speed and temperature for film uniformity and quality.
Visually check film for defects, check dimensions with micrometers and make necessary adjustments.
Set Up raw material feeding system.
Maintain records of material use and production.
Follow equipment workplace cleaning/sanitation procedures, to complete Sanitation Checklist.
Follow GMP's and production SOP's
Conduct and document all quality checks for intermediate product.
QC checks. i.e. capacity, gauge, width Treatment.
Finished material handling.
Daily housekeeping procedures.
Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to the job.
Report all food safety violations to management.
Follow company rules and regulations and ensure that his/her operators follow them as well.
Responsible to train subordinates.
Report daily to Supervisor.
Generate Work orders as needed.
Interact and explain to maintenance personnel when a work order is issued.
Maximize outputs in order to reach daily production targets.
Must be able to answer emails.
Attend SPS Meetings and schedule meetings During Schedule working Hours
Fill out daily documents around Blown film department.(Deviation forms if needed , sweep sheets, DTM boards, Connection forms.)
Review Personal per Machine and send out the Daily Roll Call
Back-up to other Blown Film Operators for break relief, vacation and other leaves as needed.
Report all unsafe acts and conditions to Managers immediately.
Responsible for quality and safety and safe operational procedures.
Cover vacant positions on other shifts as needed.
All other duties assigned by manager.
Participate in Sonoco's Performance System (SPS) activities as required - 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.

Effective Communicator
Must be able to read, speak and write in English.
Knowledge in blown film extrusion,
Knowledge in resins, co-extrusion of a variety of plastics.
Machine, Materials Knowledge
Lead Trainer and Planner of Daily Production Schedule
Mechanical Aptitude
Must be able to read ruler/Metric/Standard
Sheer & Razor Blade Experience
Speak, Read and write English
Analyze, Troubleshoot & Problem Solved
Data Entry
Must be able to use tools
Math Skills
Forklift & Hand Jack Operation
Knowledge of Plastic Materials
Overhead Hoist System Operation
Setup Machine Tensions
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent job experience
Heavy Physical effort performing duties/Work Activities,
Able to Lift 50-75 lbs
Continuous Mental/Visual attention required,
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
Must be able to stand or walk for up to 12 Hours
