We are strategic risk takers, innovators, and collaborators. We are engineers, scientists, technicians, administrative professionals. We are over 2,000 employees advancing knowledge for the benefit of humankind. Fermilab has been at the forefront of particle physics for more than 40 years. We build world-leading accelerators and detectors to conduct some of the most advanced particle physics experiments possible. We collect and analyze the data from those experiments with some of the most powerful computers in the world. We conduct this research on a 6,800-acre prairie, 35 miles outside Chicago, a treasure that has been designated a National Environmental Research Park.

Work onsite in Batavia, Illinois.
Be intimately involved in the design, construction, commissioning, and physics experiments of H- ion sources.
Develop an ion source spectrometer that will be compatible with current operations as well as the ion source chosen for the PIP-II program.
Model/simulate ion sources.
Conduct beam studies to improve Linac operation and beam quality.
Interpret experimental data and present results in scientific publications and/or professional conferences.
Participate in the accelerators day-to-day operations.
Manage the design and building of a new ion source test stand for the chosen PIP-II H- ion source.
Lead the implementation of the PIP-II Project "warm magnets and power supplies" scope. This includes:
Management of the design, procurement, fabrication, and delivery
Management of the budget and schedule.
Participate in the commissioning of the warm magnets (PIP-II Project).
