Job Summary:

To manage project teams comprised of digital resources, marketing resources, business resources, product group resources, facility resources, IT resources, and others tasked with developing and maintaining marketing & digital solutions used by Caterpillar dealers, and internally. Manage delivery of group of related programs that delivers a common program goal in line with Modern Order Management Digital Strategy. You will be responsible for defining and executing components of the machine order transformation effort, Modern Order Management, which will include digital product development and deployment across various delivery platforms. These digital products are made of up the process, supporting technologies, data, workflow, and policies.

The Program Manager is accountable for ensuring successful completion of projects, on-time, within budget, and error-free while ensuring a positive culture is maintained. The principal responsibility of the Program Manager is to manage the planning and execution of project teams. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the project charter, communications, metrics, reporting, and the overall project plan and budget. Included in the program management is various management reporting include maintaining our Hoshin Kanri framework for the transformation team.

What You Will Do:

- Organizing and coordinating processes and procedures for all project teams to follow within the program leveraging the MOM framework.

- Serving as a liaison and building bridges among project teams within the program. Translating corporate objectives into program objectives and practices with an understanding of how Caterpillar machine ordering and deliver with our CatIT framework. .

- Planning and monitoring program development to ensure that quality standards and goals are achieved.

- Managing all aspects of an organizational program to ensure projects within the program are implemented, accepted, and accomplished within a set deadline.

Education Requirement:

4-year degree

What Skills You Will Have:

Data Gathering & Analysis:

- Advises on advanced data gathering and analysis methodologies and technologies with an understanding of the end-to-end machine ordering process..

- Oversees data gathering and analysis activities within the organization with understanding of both CMOPS and SAP ordering .

- Documents sources and validates the accuracy of data analysis by evaluating the pros and cons of data analysis methods used.

- Implements procedures and policies within a data processing function.

- Teaches others how to improve the validity and reliability of data used in various analyses.

- Evaluates best practices of data gathering and analysis within the industry.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

- Applies an assigned technique for data-driven thinking in a Decision-Making process.

- Discerns between “signal” and “noise” when interpreting data.

- Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas that reflect understanding of the end-to-end environment including the local differences at sites.

- Participates in the process of choosing KPIs and metrics to influence decisions.

- Utilizes the basic data collection and evaluation tools and techniques.

Influencing:

- Develops basic persuasive arguments that can be used with senior leaders.

- Discusses organizational culture around providing input on decisions with understanding the balance between driving transformation and ensuring business success.

- Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to surface opportunities to influence.in order execution.

- Identifies who the decision makers are and how they receive information.

- Regularly presents ideas or suggestions to associates in persuasive terms.

Program Management:

- Evaluates risks and vulnerabilities, and creates contingency plans.

- Advises others on preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating program cost and time.

- Conducts regular and ad-hoc program reviews with project managers, team and clients with an understanding of the gateway structure for program approvals..

- Coaches others in maintaining open communication among project managers and interested parties.

- Oversees reporting requirements, and creates monitoring and control mechanisms.

- Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors a set of projects within a program.

Team Management:

- Brings projects to closure and ensures capture of what can be learned from the experience .

- Leads the definition objectives for a variety of teams.

- Employs appropriate techniques for maintaining team enthusiasm, energy, and focus.

- Ensures that team members are on board, unified, and moving in the same direction.

- Communicates both within the team and to stakeholders.

- Learns and utilizes special talents and work styles of team members.

The location for this position is Peoria, IL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position may require less than 20% travel.
