Peer tutors are active participants in the CLC Tutoring Center, coaching students in selected subjects as needed. Peer tutors participate in staff development opportunities, contribute to center projects and help promote the center within the CLC community.

+ Tutor CLC students in selected subjects, including facilitating study groups as needed.

+ Conduct outreach, serving as a liaison to specific courses, staffing events, and assisting with tutoring center orientations as needed.

+ Create a welcoming environment, including greeting, directing and assisting students with appointment scheduling as needed.

+ Document tutoring sessions in accordance with center guidelines.

+ Respond to email and Teams communications in accordance with center guidelines.

+ Update supervisor on accomplishments, issues, and concerns.

+ Participate in staff development opportunities and in the tutor evaluation process.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualification(s)

+ Be a CLC student enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits for summer or 6 credits for the fall/spring semester

+ Have successfully completed courses in subject area to be tutored

+ Ability to communicate and interact effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Desired Qualification(s)

+ Proficient in MS Office.

+ Willingness to work at multiple campus locations (Lakeshore, Southlake, Grayslake).

Posting Date Special Instructions Summary Pay Rate $14.00 Location Grayslake Total Hours per week 4-20 Work Schedule

As needed based on availability. Position runs through the spring 2025 term.
