Summary / Role Purpose
As the Corporate Counsel - Contracts, Licensing & IP in the Legal, IP and Risk department ("LIR") at Ansys, the candidate will be an experienced attorney collaborating across the company to provide legal advice, counsel and support for software/technology agreements, OEM agreements, license agreements, consulting agreements, collaboration agreements, partnership agreements, license compliance, products, open-source software, IP management, and IP protection.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Draft and negotiate the terms of various agreements, including software/technology agreements, collaboration agreements, OEM agreements, and partnership agreements
Assist with protecting our software and licensing
Support and provide advice on license compliance matters
Support the company's IP protection strategies
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
JD degree
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Experience with drafting and negotiating various types of license agreements and other agreements, including software/technology license agreements
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Experience with open-source software compliance issues
Experience with license compliance issues, including license breaches, copyright infringements, and software pirating
Experience protecting inventions and managing patent prosecution in the software area
Registered patent attorney with experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the software area
