Job Title: Production Packaging Supervisor
Location: Montgomery, IL
Hours: 2nd shift: 3:00 pm - 12:30 am or when shift is over (Monday - Friday and OT Saturday and Sunday)
Position Summary: The Production Packaging Supervisor will effectively perform all of the required duties of the Packaging Department Supervisor position in an accurate, thorough and safe manner as outlined per the Carl Buddig and Company job description. Employees are responsible for producing a safe and quality food product per USDA guidelines and are required to report all food safety related problems to their supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Implement proper procedures for packaging department.
Create packaging department schedules to ensure that all packaging is performed and completed in a timely fashion.
Report at end of shift any issues and update the pass down notes regarding production for the day, as well as WIP inventory levels.
Follow and adjust master packaging department schedule as needed.
Verify and monitor completion of responsibilities as outlined via the packaging department work schedule.
Complete all Red Zone sign offs daily at end of shift.
Create and enforce self-inspection schedule to ensure self-auditing is completed.
Complete LSW leader Standard Work Sheet.
Analyze situations to provide solutions that are in the best interest of the company.
Maintain accurate records, reports, Down time logs, WIP inventory logs.
Delegate responsibilities to employees as needed.
Maintain required inventory of all packaging department supplies.
Ensure that employees are abiding by all Carl Buddig and Company policies via the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
Train new and existing employees on the required job duties outlined via the Line Packer, Team Leader, and Packaging Material Handler Job Descriptions.
Document all training for new and Existing employees; Monthly Safety, SQF require training & job specific training.
Discuss employees that have breached company policy or are not meeting performance metrics as outlined via the Line Packer, Team Leader and Packaging Material Handler Job Descriptions with the Packaging Manager and discipline accordingly.
Review and sign packaging documentation at end of shift.
Perform other duties as assigned by the OW Production Manager.
Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.
Complete all the trainer and trainee forms for all new Employees, during the evaluation process.
Knowledge and Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree preferred.
High School Diploma/GED is required.
1 -3 years supervisory work experience is preferred.


Working Condition and Physical Requirements:

Ability to legally work in the United States is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Work in cold environment of 40 degrees or less.
Must be able to lift, slide, push, pull, grab, turn, reach, bend, stand, and walk.
Drive stand up forklift.
