Position Summary:
Join our exciting & dedicated team at Vallen as a Vertical Lift Machine Operator. In this position, you will operate high speed automated picking equipment to load and unload materials and assist in receiving, handling, stocking, etc., goods in a warehouse or distribution center. Additionally, you will be responsible for following established procedures and guidelines by operating equipment with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely and properly operates high speed automated picking equipment to complete tasks.
Ensure machine is operating correctly and in good working order and any issues are reported to the appropriate individual.
Load product into machine by assigning locations and performing put away functions of incoming material while checking for discrepancies between goods and system and verifying condition of material.
Complete order processing of orders; picks, packs, labels, and dispatches outgoing goods and merchandise according to written or verbal requests or work orders; uses electronic displays to locate and process product within the machine and places products in appropriate areas, following stacking policies to prevent product damage; verifies product and quantity accuracy. May require use of pallet jack, carts or other warehouse machinery for moving product, boxes, or totes.
Ability to train others on machine functions and task as needed for additional coverage.
Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner.
Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
Assists in inventory level maintenance and inventory counts.
Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent coupled with 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
Relevant experience and/or aptitude should include:
Loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic computer knowledge and proficiency and/or a demonstrated technical aptitude to learn; preferred technical skills to include but are not limited to MS-Office products, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21.
Demonstration of basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent preferred.
Ability to compile routine reports and write correspondence.
Ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
