VCA Chicago North Animal Hospital , located in the Irving Park/Avondale neighborhood of Chicago, IL, is proud to be AAHA accredited and practice Low-Stress Handling.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers a supportive and collaborative environment where you can grow your career and make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.
Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Schedule: Full-time opportunities available with flexible scheduling.? 4 Ă— 10 hour schedule.
?Parking: We have our very own huge parking lot!
Overall Responsibility: Our Veterinary Technician’s provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients.
+ Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
+ Venipuncture and IVC placement
+ Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
+ Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
+ Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
+ Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
+ Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
+ Surgical preparation and assisting.
+ Anesthesia monitoring.
+ Dentistry
+ Mentor Veterinary Assistants

Qualifications:
+ Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred
+ Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary setting
+ Strong knowledge of animal care and veterinary procedures
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
+ Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
+ Compassionate and dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our patients
