Information Technology Manager II

Role Definition:

The Information Technology Manager role has ownership of the main support and execute functions for the Enterprise Applications department within GIS. This includes accountability for support metrics, management of contracts with strategic vendors, and leadership over a global Caterpillar team responsible for the delivery of these services. The application portfolio in question ranges from legacy to modern, and includes ERPs, Manufacturing, Order to Delivery and pricing applications, among others. This is a critical role that helps ensure our end users experience a well-equipped, efficient, and simple touchpoint to support. Further, this role owns the Continuous Improvement journey for the department, with programs that drive toward improving automation, monitoring, and analytic capabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing IT teams, foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

- Execute multiple priorities & business requirements. Develops solutions that best meet the needs of the enterprise, with options to meet differentiated business capabilities as needed.

- Develops & manages IT budget for area of accountability.

- Delivers highly available, leading IT services through best-in-class service level management practices with the ability to flex with changing business demands.

Top Candidates Will Have:

+ Experience managing large ($5m+) contracts for managed services.

+ A Lean or Continuous Improvement background.

+ An ability to translate between technical and business language, creating a bridge between the support organization and the Caterpillar business they serve.

+ Experience as a leader of leaders in the IT space.
