Research Economist in Land Use Economics - ISEE

Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment

Job Summary
To develop economic models to examine the economic and environmental drivers and consequences of land use change for bioenergy production, supervise graduate student research assistants and generate publications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Data compilation and analysis - 40%
  • Economic model development and analysis - 30%
  • Generate publishable research outputs and present to interdisciplinary audiences - 20%
  • Research program coordination - 10%
Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Agricultural or Environmental Economics. Five years of research experience after PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

Multiple publications in peer reviewed and high-quality journals; strong interpersonal skills of working with others.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Econometric and economic modeling skills, data analytics, academic writing and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience of complex data analytics, economic modeling and published research outputs. Ability to supervise junior team members and participate in interdisciplinary research projects and work independently to conduct research tasks.
Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after closing date. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The salary range starts at $70,000.
