The Operations Specialist position is located at 2513 N 2125 Street, St Elmo, IL 62458. This is a Monday through Friday position with some on-call responsibilities nights and weekends. Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of pipelines, reciprocating engines & compressors, centrifugal compressors, large electric motors, hydraulic motors, cooling equipment, gas process equipment, pumps, valves, seals and other related equipment. The facilities include the Compressor Station and Storage Field located near St. Elmo, IL, and Mainline Compressor Station located near Altamont, IL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Start, stop and operate engines, pumps, and process equipment within defined operating parameters as required.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, compressors, pumps, seals, valves and related equipment.
  • Install and service valves, pipe, pipeline appurtenances, and storage well equipment.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of facilities and equipment including pipeline right of way, gathering and storage areas, including but not limited to excavating, repairing, coating and backfilling pipelines, concrete work, painting, weed control, etc.
  • Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs and operate equipment such as tractor, fork truck, water pumps, air compressors, and vehicles.
  • Represent the Company during contacts with landowners/tenants, public officials, and at local meetings.
  • Perform governmental compliance activities. (DOT, EPA, etc.)
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Actively participate in safety programs.
  • Complete all applicable documentation accurately, completely, with appropriate attention to detail, in a timely manner, without reminder.
  • Perform all work in compliance within Company standards and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Position Requirements

Education:

  • High School degree or equivalent. Associate degree in a technical or mechanical field with a mechanical maintenance focus is preferred but not required.
  • Any applicable industry education, training, or experience is desirable.

  • Full time shift rotation for the process plant operation at the first opening, and upon the completion of all required training.
