Job Description
Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Glenview, Illinois. The role involves providing accurate and timely financial information, reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing inventory reporting, and conducting ad-hoc analysis as needed. This role will liaise with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to enhance overall performance and productivity, and effectively communicate with both internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for specified general ledger accounts
- Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned functional areas
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of inventory, cycle, and physical counts
- Work closely with the procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure seamless inventory management processes
- Research and resolve divisional inquiries from corporate or external partners
- Participate in the development, enhancement, and monitoring of company internal controls
- Provide financial support for various special projects including cost analysis, internal/external audits, sales/use tax audits, manufacturing surveys, and other ad-hoc requests
- Ensure company policies are being followed as well as implementation of new controls as they arise Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with the General Ledger
- Ability to create and manage Journal Entries
- Experience in Month End Close procedures
- Proficient in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
