Web Technical Support Specialist

 

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides direct technical support to customers for Baker & Taylor Web platforms and all methods of electronic ordering and invoicing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The following statements describe the general nature of the work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities maybe assigned by management)
Assist customers with website navigation, features and functions, account setup and account data modification.
Provide Level 1 support for troubleshooting technical and non-technical issues. Escalate issues to next level as required.
Provide Level 1 support for troubleshooting issues related to EDI ordering
Troubleshoot and resolve any electronic ordering/invoicing issues for all systems and platforms.
Specific project work as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of High School diploma and 2-3 years related experience. Additional computer related education and Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong PC Skills including familiarity with PC settings and functions, various browsers, Microsoft Operating systems and products such as: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Apple IOS.
Expansive experience in navigating and utilizing various web applications and platforms such as Helpdesk sites, E-commerce, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and organize activities to meet specific goals set by management.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, coworkers and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and lift/move up to 10 pounds. The employee must occasionally stand, walk, talk, and hear. Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
