Position Summary
The shuttle bus driver will drive students, faculty, staff and university guests from the main campus to various pre-determined locations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
*Transport passengers on a pre-determined route and assist with route information as well as boarding and de-boarding bus.
*Report to dispatcher via radio any route detours, or whenever passengers might require assistance of police, medical or other services.
*Maintain daily work sheet and complete accident/incident reports when necessary.
*Maintain other logs and reports as required.
*Other duties assigned or required.
*Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement.
Minimum Requirements
*Must be at least 21 years of age
*Able to obtain a valid class "B" Illinois Commercial Drivers license
*Clear work history and a record of safe driving (5 years)
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
*Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university
Preferred Requirements
*Possess a valid CDL
Hours/Shift/Work Schedule
17.5 hours per week. Monday through Friday 2:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. from August through May. Schedule may vary.
Physical Requirements of Position
Work is performed in a vehicle setting with moderate exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent sitting behind the wheel of the vehicle. This is sedentary work which requires the ability to come to campus, perform vehicle safety checks, operate a bus, follow a prescribed route, and complete paper and computerized forms.
