Job Description:

Microchip's Colorado Springs operation is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Facilities Technician to join our Air Separation Operations team. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the facilities and equipment at our site's cryogenic air separation plant. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Responsible for operating and maintaining plant mechanical and electrical equipment through the execution of routine PMs, rounds, and troubleshooting interventions
Carry out technical assignments as prescribed by plant engineers and support troubleshooting and repair efforts on plant equipment
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical schematics, and electrical schematics
Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment including multimeters
Take charge in resolving plant mechanical and electrical issues
Monitor operational processes and identify areas for improvement
Monitor and adjust plant process variables via plant control system
Draft and follow plant operations and maintenance procedures
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills and proficient/advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
Familiarity with industrial mechanical and electrical equipment including motors, pumps, compressors, valves, and other instrumentation a plus
Other duties as assigned

Shift: (A) Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday (7am-7pm)

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education/Years of Experience:
Associates or 2-year technical degree with a minimum of five (5) years of multifaceted operations technician experience

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:
Must be willing to:
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces.
Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed.
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time.
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
