Job Description

Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking an individual for a position as Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting at its Chicago corporate office located near O'Hare. Responsibilities include performing monthly, quarterly and yearly close duties, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, global financial consolidation, 10-Q/10-K footnote disclosures and financial statement fluctuation analysis. This position reports to the Director of SEC Reporting.

Responsibilities:

Various month-end closing procedures including preparing/reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.

Assist with managing the global financial consolidation function using OneStream and with the systems and security administration of the OneStream financial system

Assist with footnote disclosures and financial statement preparation for Forms 10-K and 10-Q

Provide assistance and support to business units to ensure that financial results are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Methode's policies and procedures

Assist in maintaining strong SOX control environment within all performed functions

Prepare quarterly and year-end schedules and assists with internal and external audits

Participate in special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required, including financial and individual account analysis

Qualifications:

BS Degree in Accounting with 7 years of experience in increasingly responsible accounting roles

Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and internal controls

Extensive knowledge with financial consolidations and consolidation systems - Hyperion and/or OneStream

CPA strongly preferred and public accounting experience a plus

Knowledge working in external reporting systems - Wdesk and/or ActiveDisclosure a plus

Experience with publicly held companies, manufacturing industry a plus

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task, while maintaining attention to detail

Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
