Description
The Talent Acquisition Background Check Coordinator position acts as the point person for background checkrelated inquiries, including managing background check escalations. The Background Check Coordinator will provide high-touch support to candidates, Talent Acquisition colleagues, and internal stakeholders throughout the background check escalation process. To succeed in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented, an excellent communicator with internal and external stakeholders, and possess strong time management skills to prioritize multiple tasks

* Manage company's background check escalation process by working closely with Talent Acquisition coordinators and recruiters, candidates, and internal stakeholders.
* Follow the company's policies and procedures for each escalation.
* Determine internal stakeholders to partner with on each escalation, forwarding results requiring additional review to the appropriate team.
* Meticulously track details of each escalation on the background check tracker.
* Communicate details of the escalation process to the candidate, as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with coordinators and recruiters throughout the background check escalation process. Engage recruiters when there are delays in the process and notify recruiters of background check results in a timely manner.
* Manage adverse action process when a candidate fails their background check.
* Partner with background check vendor, as necessary, during the dispute process.
* Coordinate process with internal stakeholders when a background check is failed for contractor conversions.
* Serve as Talent Acquisition's subject matter expert in the background check process, including reviewing and interpreting background check results on the vendor platform.
* Provide support and guidance to Talent Acquisition Coordinators by answering day-to-day background checkrelated questions.
* Partner with background check vendor for support in navigating various situations and roadblocks throughout the process.
* Create and facilitate background check training sessions for new Talent Acquisition Coordinators.
* Attend weekly background check vendor meetings with supervisor to provide input on current issues, as well as process improvement ideas.
* Initiate and manage background checks for specific populations.
* Adhere to Talent Acquisition expectations and timelines for background check service level agreements.
* Monitor candidate progress daily in background check system, anticipating delays and identifying system errors/issues promptly.
* Maintain background check tracker, ensuring accurate updates are documented daily. Provide high touch customer service to candidates, ensuring accurate representation of company and a positive onboarding experience.
* Review background check results, collect documentation from candidates when additional verification is needed, and adjudicate background check orders.
* Update candidate background check status in applicant tracking system (Smart Recruiters).
* Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned workload, and make sound judgment calls when reviewing background checks.
* Self-motivated in problem solving and taking initiative to find solutions for day-to-day obstacles.
* Ability to be discreet with confidential and sensitive information.
* Prioritize relationship management with Talent Acquisition colleagues, internal stakeholders, and background check vendor.
* Constantly increase knowledge base and contribute to process improvement.
* Assist with ad hoc assignments and projects as determined by supervisor and Director.
* Attend biweekly Talent Acquisition Operations & Innovation team meetings, sharing updates on accomplishments and projects in assigned area.

Minimum Qualifications
* Minimum of an associate degree required. A degree in Human Resources is preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in staffing coordination or in an HR environment.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are required to interact extensively with candidates and personnel at all levels within the company.
