Job Description
Job Overview
The Process Engineer ensures the manufacturing process is working efficiently and effectively to reduce waste in order to deliver a quality product to the customer. This position will report to the Technical department, working closely with operators to identify and implement appropriate process improvements. Responsible for coordination and hands on involvement in quality, waste reduction, process improvements, new product trials, make ready improvements, etc. Provide troubleshooting and technical expertise in manufacturing issues, non-conforming product, process start up and new or modification of equipment.

Principal Accountabilities:
Identification, investigation and assistance with the implementation of waste reduction.
Provide strong support to solve quality issues (internal and external).
Monitor/ evaluate new or modified processes to ensure high quality and productivity.
Participate in and contribute to make ready improvements.
Provide troubleshooting assistance in resolving process issues.
Lead various improvement projects to minimize cost in the facility.
Investigate and resolve daily manufacturing and quality issues.
Coordinate process start up on new or modified equipment.
Perform statistical analysis of process capabilities.
Provide support to the department for improving product quality.
Perform evaluations on substitute and new materials changes to meet customer expectations.
Provide support to the Graphics Coordinator as needed and interact with on-site ink supplier
Follow EHS directives and participate in ownership of safety processes and guidelines.
Train operators in addition to update work instruction when process is modified.
May be required to visit other facilities or customers.
Participate in and contribute to a Amcor NA Best Practice Team

Qualifications/Requirements

Knowledge & Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or R&D
Demonstrated experience in process improvement.
Functional experience with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and like audits
Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to talk to operators, supervisors, managers, vendors and customers to research and resolve related problems.
Packaging process/ product knowledge (plastics environment) desired.
Food and Safety experience desired (knowledge of AIB, HACCP)
Proficient in product specification systems

Education & Certifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Physical Demands
Employee will spend 75% of each day on plant floor where frequent exposure to moderate noise levels will occur. While on the floor, the employee will spend 100% of his/her time standing. Potential to be... For full info follow application link.
