Job Description

Develop, implement, and support clinical programs with major health systems to reduce targeted Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) effectively.

Evaluate the perioperative continuum via observations, data analytics, and interviews to provide clinical guidance on opportunities to improve techniques, processes, and products based on industry standards and evidence-based practice recommendations.

Review, develop, and implement targeted educational materials based on surgical services evaluations that align policy and practice compliance.

Responsible for reducing HAIs targeting surgical site infection and enhancing prevention programs for contracted risk share and consultative programs.

 

 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for auditing and implementing relevant evidence-based practice recommendations and action plans to reduce SSIs and achieve contractual goals with assigned accounts.
  • Identify and interpret opportunities or gaps in clinical practice or process through observations, onsite interviews with healthcare professionals, system policies, electronic medical records, and root cause analysis. Analyze supply utilization and optimum product formulary to support recommended practice.
  • Participate in root cause analysis to explore and identify trends, patterns, and potential nonreportable incidents (HAIs) for further analysis.
  • Present findings to health system clinical leadership.
  • Develop targeted education programs and opportunities working in concert with clinical specialists.
  • Represent and present Medlines clinical programs and solutions to key customers through various methods such as on-site visits, workshops, and other venues including virtual methods.
  • Present clinical programs that are either being developed and/or will be developed to support sales and other key initiatives. Present programs/workshops per IDN (Integrated Delivery Network) requirements and contractual agreements.
  • Attend and coordinate regional and local meetings, workshops, and webinars with the sales team and customers for the presentation of clinical programs.
  • Interface with Sales, Marketing, Product Divisions, Medical Affairs, clinical liaisons, and other healthcare professionals to understand needs and direction. Work with key healthcare facilities to provide clinical leadership.
  • Seek new or emerging knowledge on changes in reimbursement, quality, and clinical programs. Communicate learnings/new knowledge from the field to management and sales departments.
  • Work with internal divisions to determine appropriate clinical focus for both existing and future products. Track all results and summarize data monthly. Provide data analytics and assist with action planning to obtain results.
  • Build and maintain key relationships internally and externally; ensure strong communication and connection with client business partners.

 

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelors degree Nursing or Bachelors Degree Surgical Technologist

Perioperative Certification (CNOR, CST)

Relevant Work Experience

At least 5 years of relevant work experience within a nursing leadership / Director role.

At least 5 years experience in the perioperative setting.

Experience presenting to and coordinating senior-level meetings, including preparation of agenda, documenting meeting minutes, etc.

Additional

Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
