The Event Sales Manager's main duty is to sell and manage a 30,000 square foot event venue accommodating up to 500 guests. The event space includes an atrium for weddings, social celebrations, and corporate events along with multiple conference rooms and two newly renovated lobbies for cocktail and pre-reception events.This individual will design a sales strategy to drive revenue to the client with a hospitality focused client experience. The Event Sales Manager is also responsible for client tours and contracting, management of vendors, and maintaining the venue's reputation through successful event execution.
JOB DUTIES
Marketing Strategy and Development Management
Development of annual marketing plan for the venue based upon the location's strategic goals
Creation of marketing budget to support the marketing plan; ongoing management of the budget
Effectively manage the property's digital media programs (social media, web, aggregators, etc.)
Creates external marketing messaging and collateral to attract new business
Develop and effectively execute sales plan to drive revenue through corporate, social, non-profit, and trade show events
Ensure ongoing innovation and compliance with brand standards, while maintaining property brand and analyze its position in the market
Cultivate and maintain networking relationships to drive business with local tourism bureaus, destination management firms, preferred partners and business leaders, attending events as needed
Event Venue Management
Manage inquiries, tours (requires evenings and weekends), reservations, contract negotiations and payment
Oversee vendor relationships, agreements, certificates of insurance, commission reports, and preferred status
Coordinate event logistics with onsite staff including property management, janitorial, security, parking, etc.
Act as day of event manager requiring evenings and weekends on event days
Coordinate city permits where applicable
Maintain venue technology and amenities
Oversee the financial performance of venue, manage operating budget and sales forecasting
Manage and develop programs to achieve high guest satisfaction
Management
Manage, provide leadership, and ongoing mentorship to the Event Specialist
Manage staff to meet JLL Experience Management and client's goals
Any additional duties as assigned
