The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Placement Clearance Desk Worker.  Under direction, this position will conduct involved searches from multiple informational sources to provide authorization or denial for placement of Department youth in care in licensed foster homes and unlicensed relative homes.  The position will conduct background checks and review printouts.  This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s call operations.  DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program.  The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills.  We invite you to join our innovative team to help make a positive difference in the lives of the children and families of Illinois.

1. Serves as Production Control Unit Worker/Chicago Public Schools. 

2. Performs Background Checks in a timely manner to ensure compliance with expedited service requirements outlined in the interagency agreement with Chicago Public Schools.

3. Tracks, verifies, and maintains logs of pending and completed Chicago Public Schools background checks. 

4. Prepares and keyboards correspondence and form letters, responding to inquires requiring knowledge of agency rules and procedures. 

5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
