Job Description

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in DES PLAINES, Illinois, United States. In this role, you will be involved in collections and cash applications, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving credit inquiries. You will also be responsible for monitoring customer credit accounts and implementing appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately process customer credit applications on a daily basis

- Maintain precise customer credit records

- Resolve customer credit inquiries in a detail oriented manner

- Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary action to collect overdue payments

- Import lockbox payments into each database ensuring that the deposit balances to the totality of the multiple imports

- Negotiate collections from delinquent commercial accounts over the phone and via email

- Work from the established collector work queue to make contacts

- Apply critical thinking skills to determine appropriate solutions while overcoming obstacles to improve call outcomes

- Interact effectively and courteously with internal and external customers to maximize collection efforts and enhance revenue generation opportunities

- Understand and execute company policies and procedures without issue.

This role requires skills in Accounting Software Systems, Accurint, Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, Billing Functions, Collection Processes, Collector, Credit, and Customer Service. Requirements – Proficiency in accounting software systems is crucial

- Experience with Accurint is desirable

- Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) is preferred

- Proficiency in IBM AS/400 is essential

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required

- Experience in billing functions is necessary

- Proficiency in collection processes is essential

- Experience as a collector is a plus

- Knowledge of credit processes is required

- Excellent customer service skills are essential
