Role description:

As a Field Inspector, your primary focus will be inspecting the construction of track. The projects include rehabilitation or replacement of; track drainage systems, special track work and traction power third rail system.

Role accountabilities:

  • Conduct field inspections of civil and track construction activities in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Verify that the construction work is being executed as per the contract documents and meets the quality standards.
  • Identify and report any deviations or non-compliance with the contract documents to the appropriate stakeholders, such as the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Ensure that required material inspections and tests are performed and documented accurately.
  • Prepare detailed daily reports summarizing the construction activities observed, including progress, issues, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to verify that the constructed work meets the specified quality requirements.
  • Assist in conducting punch list inspections upon completion of the work.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Field Inspector on Transit and Transportation projects, specifically involving civil and track infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with transit and transportation industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and track construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Experience in inspecting and monitoring the construction of track drainage systems, special track work, and traction power third rail systems is highly desirable.
