Arcadis is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding project management team within our Water business line based in our Chicago, IL office

Role description:

This position will support our clients and our project teams with project controls from the design phase through construction phase on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, power generation, manufacturing facilities or other heavy construction projects. This position will provide cost estimates, perform CPM scheduling analysis and reports, perform document, and contract management and provide construction management assistance to our project teams as needed.

Role accountabilities:

CPM Scheduling services:
Develop Master, Design and Construction CPM schedules from project documents.
Utilize Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Project scheduling software.
Analyze and provide reports based on reviews of contractor's CPM schedule submittals.
Track and report on planned v. actual schedule and construction performance
Develop and provide CPM schedule reports and graphics from Primavera P6.
Review and present CPM schedule reviews to the project team (client, designer, and contractor)
Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA)

Cost Estimating services:
Perform cost estimates for projects from conceptual design through bid documents.
Performs cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical disciplines.
Perform cost estimates for construction change orders and support negotiations.
Perform cost validation and quantity surveying on an as needed basis.
Track and monitor market conditions for materials and equipment.
Develop cost estimate excel based templates or utilize provided cost estimating software.
Develop and provide cost estimate reports for the basis of costs, assumptions, and risks.
Present cost estimates and reports to clients

Document and Contract Management:
Support construction managers in document control and communication
Become proficient in the use of Project Management Information System (PMIS) software
Provide project related reports and tracking logs from PMIS.
Support management of documents in the PMIS by clients, designers, and contractors for each project
Construction Management support:
Perform onsite construction management support as required to support our project teams.
Provide onsite coverage assistance to our construction managers.

Funding
Support funding team in all areas of State Revolving Fund planning, applications, and compliance reporting
Support Grant applications
Assist with compliance reporting
Work with various clients to coordinate funding initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant construction and project controls experience. Preferred civil/utility project type experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient Cost and scheduling knowledge
