Job Description

The Inventory Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy.  Also responsible for picking and packing of customer orders, following standard, departmental procedures and supplemental instructions included on the order document.  All work follows generally arranged routines, with supervision being readily available.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for continuous inventory cycle-count and yearly physical inventory as needed
  • Identify and validate discrepancies and disposition them appropriately.
  • Analyze discrepancy patterns and determine root cause using S4 HANA and Excel.
  • Communicate issues and solutions to management team on a regular basis for immediate improvement
  • Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of ladings, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Pick and pack product for domestic and international orders ensuring contents are accurate
  • Unload truck for inbound shipments, ensuring that material is received in satisfactory condition
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence
  • Open crates and other containers, to then move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
  • Process shipments, prepare bill of ladings, and schedule pick-ups via FedEx, UPS, DHL, and other carriers per instructions included in customer’s order
  • Routinely enter and extract data from the appropriate computer system/software
  • Adhere to warehouse quality control guidelines and standards
  • Drive forklift in a safe manner, ensuring loads are stable and secure
  • Maintain an orderly work environment by ensuring general maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas
  • General housekeeping which includes sweeping, dusting, and mopping
  • Maintain an organized and secure work environment
  • Support co-workers in other departments as needed
  • Inform Manager of all noteworthy activities
  • Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of packaging methods and ability to determine packaging requirements
  • Ability to compile datasets into Excel spreadsheet to troubleshoot issues, report trends, and validate corrective action.
  • Ability to follow standard work instructions; be reliable and punctual
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines, maintain a flexible attitude and approach towards assignments, and maintain level of organization in a changing and fast paced environment
  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to comprehend a variety of instructions, both oral and written
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals; capable of understanding weights and measures
  • Basic knowledge of word processing.
  • Strong knowledge of computerized inventory system
  • Ability to operate fork lift trucks
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable
  • SAP experience
  • Ability to operate telephone, copier, fax machines, and other general office equipment
