Position Summary
Receives, researches and handles technical BTMARC and customer requirements through in depth contact with customers, sales staff, and Customer Service (verbally and in writing) to set up and/or update BTMARC and customer files to ensure accurate customer profile information.

Related Experience:
Proficient phone skills, good communication skills, PC experience, in-depth knowledge of B&T order procedures and flow, ability to type 40 wpm, and in-depth knowledge (specifically B&T) of cataloging and machine readable cataloging. Excellent organization skills. High level of accuracy required.

Establishes and maintains customer account profiles pertaining to specialized handling for both customer and BTMARC orders and correspondence received through verbal and written communications with customers. Ensures all customer and BTMARC/on-line notebook/freeform setups conform to customer requirements. Makes independent decisions based on technical knowledge required (BTMARC specifications, opening and updating accounts, and communicating with customers daily regarding all aspects of B&T services.

Articulately communicates and provides assistance to customers, sales staff, Customer Service and other internal departments on issues pertaining to customer profiles; BTMARC cataloging and processing options; and detailed and complex cataloging inquiries (technical cataloging, marc data, automated cataloging systems, BTMARC specifications). Communicates with Pricing Services regarding customer's request of products to obtain a price plan needed for SOP customer profiles.

Researches customer and BTMARC concerns or problems and performs root cause analysis to determine cause and resolution to be implemented.

Responsible for creation of prototype/sample cataloging products for new accounts, high dollar value orders, and major profile changes to ensure customer requirements are met and reduction of errors/returns.

Assists customers in selecting the best cataloging available to meet their individual library's needs. Serves as consultant to the librarian in helping make the transition from printed cataloging information to on-line cataloging.

Provides customer and BTMARC profile information to customers and management upon request.

Performs B/O maintenance via Order Alteration when necessary to update orders/records already in progress.
