Position Summary

This position is responsible for coordination of all manufacturing activities for the Department assigned on 2nd shift.

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

Supervises all employees assigned to the shift and/or department.

Conducts problem solving for all manufacturing issues that arise.

Reads and analyzes: charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluates current production estimates and outputs.

Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments to meet production goals.

Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

Supervises the training of new employees including the safe operation of equipment to ensure quality and production goals are met.

Observes work and monitors gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production and quality standards.

Confers with management or subordinates to resolve employee issues or complaints.

Inputs information into electronic time and attendance system.

Assists HR with discipline and termination of employees.

All other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications-Education/Experience Required:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • At least 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Solid computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Mechanical experience/training
  • Ability to read blueprints and use appropriate gages


PREFERRED:

  • Education beyond high school
  • Fastener industry experience
  • Lean Manufacturing or similar training and experience
